Progressive Web apps are an important feature of a browser that Firefox is the only one missing.
For some, it can be the reason to switch to another browser.
In other cases like for the Steamdeck, it's what imposed the choice to only include Chrome in the SteamOS interface.
Other problem even for avid Firefox users, since I wanted Social apps on my pc I had to get them on the Microsoft Store which is an Edge PWA that opens every link in an Edge window, making me use this... other browser.

It's nice to see the team starting to spend time on this feature, but you're too late, guys. We, Firefox volunteers, fans, and users, show how much we care about adding this feature to Firefox with our comments and messages every day, but the fact that there has been no tangible development despite it being so long makes me think that this feature won't be added to Firefox for a long time.

I fully agree. Lately, I've been using two browsers to be able to use PWAs.

Just switched to Edge on all my devices.

Never coming back, I finally have all I need

I now have to rely on Edge or chrome to have thins functionality and it blows. I do not mind using chrome or edge, both are good browsers, but as a longtime firefox user I kinda miss it.

Can you install extensions on Edge mobile for Android? I want to use the same browser across all my platforms. If so, it might be easier switching than waiting for the Firefox team to release this feature.

@ReX83 surprisingly yes! Edge mobile now supports extensions and I'll tell you more.

The catalogue is pretty limited but if you use Edge Canary and enable developer settings you can install any extension you want by ID or CRX file

I use PWA on Edge for work and it makes a big difference in workflows. So far the Nightly build of this doesn't meet much of my needs and just seems like another browser window
